Juandalynn Taylor, Ph.D., J.D. is an experienced independent mitigation specialist, law professor, published author, social scientist, & continuing legal education faculty member.
She has over 18 years of experience working with defendants as a mitigation specialist in multiple jurisdictions on various state, federal, juvenile, and post-conviction cases, and participated in over two hundred cases.
Dr. Taylor is a veteran at providing defense teams with detailed investigations, well-reasoned analysis, empathy-evoking evidence, extensive record collection, assistance with identifying experts and witnesses, reports, exhibits, pre-trial mitigation packets, and consultations.
Throughout her career, Dr. Taylor has offered testimony as a sentencing and/or cultural expert in state and federal cases
in multiple jurisdictions. She has also been invited to provide testimony
before three state legislative committees.(Also see "In the media section below")
Dr. Taylor currently works at Gonzaga University Law School serving as a Visiting Professor & Fellow for the
Center for Civil & Human Rights.
She teaches two courses: Constitutional Law & Death Penalty Law.
Dr. Taylor's also holds a Ph.D. in
Rhetoric-Speech/Human Communication. Prior to teaching law school courses, she spent 12-year as a university professor and administrator She taught courses in Rhetorical Studies, Interpersonal Communication, Persuasion, Legal Issues in Communication, Advocacy, Political Communication & Cultural Studies. She presented over 35 research papers in her field with publications being recognized by the National Communication Association & the Western Communication Association for top papers. She was honored in 2001 as one of the Top 40 Women in Idaho Making History.
Her current research merges her background in rhetorical studies and law. Dr. Taylor examines the shifts in the president’s role forged in the 19th century as granting the executive branch agency to construct extraconstitutional powers. She argues that the reconstructed role of the presidency was formed through discursive practices resulting in a body of law that effectively operated as a de facto code of criminal procedure. Specifically, the executive branch’s self bestowed extraconstitutional powers laid the foundation for a second constitution that is hidden, yet blatantly dictates the individual rights of Black defendants.
Things to know... everything Dr. Taylor does integrates 30 years of academic experience as a communication studies scholar and professor examining human behavior and communication in interpersonal relationships, during social interactions, political contexts, and within and among cultural groups. Dr. Taylor's training, research, and expertise is interdisciplinary drawing from the law, communication studies, social psychology, sociology, anthropology, cultural studies, critical race theory, political science, and her life. She has conducted fieldwork in the United States, as well as in Brazil, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba--where she also taught three study abroad courses. She brings her whole heart and an abundance of passion, patience, professionalism, and most of all compassion to everything she does. You won't be disappointed!

Kim is a veteran investigator having worked on state, federal, & juvenile criminal & civil cases in multiple jurisdictions. One of her specialities is conducting investigations in high profile cases---which she's worked from coast to coast.
Kim has been with Taylor Advocacy Group as a mitigation specialist for capital and non-capital cases since 2013. She currently supervises east coast operations.
Kim is high energy! Juandalynn often refers to her as her "Ace"." Mainly because Kim has NEVER encountered a situation she is afraid of or didn't feel like she could impact. Kim's track record matches the enthusiasm, professionalism, and commitment she gives to every case and the compassion she shows to everyone she meets.
